Some customers express concerns about the extreme spiciness of certain dishes, which can catch newcomers off guard. While many appreciate the bold flavors, those less accustomed to spice might find some offerings overwhelming. Additionally, a few reviews hint at the need for ambiance improvements; while Ceylon Chennai Xpress focuses on delicious food, the dining environment could benefit from aesthetic upgrades to attract more dine-in customers. A handful of guests have pointed out long wait times during peak hours, particularly on weekends, which may lead to a less-than-ideal experience for those in a hurry.
I find myself back at this restaurant once again. Good choice of food from rice, dosa and kothu. My all time favourite would the fresh parotta or egg parotta with choice meat or seafood curries. The fish fry and chicken liver are to die for at this place, along with their fresh kothu roti! But the level of spiciness is little extreme. Their vegetarian options are good too, like the potato devil and set rice and curries. Portion size is decent for price!
Very nice people in here. They let my mother in law use their toilet and we saw the kitchen and back area. all is very clean and food is all covered. I will eat here next time. Thank you for your kindness.
The food was so tasty, we ordered kothu roti, mutton curry and veg rice and every dish had the right amount of spice and was delicious. Would highly recommend and will definitely be back!
We wanted eat karela porota and we thought this may be the right place ... and it was ... So we went there yesterday hoping for a descent meal ... to our surprise it was more than descent To start with we had thier non vegetarian samosa this had chicken and boiled egg ... it was different and was brilliant Then we had the mutton rolls which was beautiful also had the fish pakoda kinda thing which was most beautiful thing we ate. Then for our Mains we had karela portable which was nice, with the porota we ate chicken curry and fish curry The taste of the chicken curry was absolutely brilliant , but the show stopper was fish curry That blew our minds Beautiful food The restaurant could have some work done as in ambiance for getting more customers there.
This is a local establishment an the cooks in here are amazing the food is so good an the prices very reasonable, the Chicken Kothu is the Best..👌🏽
My go to place for Sri Lankan food. Excellent. Especially appams, fresh kothu and squid curry. My favourites.
Only four tables, but presume you can take out from here. I only dropped in for a coffee as I was early for an appt up the road. Very good price.
I highly recommend the Chicken Kothu Roti and Mutton Curry. The fresh Parotta served with any choice of meat or seafood curry is also a favorite. Don't skip the non-vegetarian samosas with chicken and boiled egg for a unique starter.
Expect to pay between £10 and £20 for a good meal. Portion sizes are decent, making it a great value for the quality and flavor.
